One of the things that really impresses me about the people here at Poke is their attention to detail for absolutely everything. This is applied to client-work, of course, but it bleeds into the rest of the culture here too.
To see Simon off, we had a big party last week in which we all dressed up like him. You know how it is.

Aside from the costumes, we also wore masks, which were hacked together in record-time by a small handful of people. I was one of the lazy/busy ones that only had time to grab a ready-made mask and change clothes at the last minute.

You can see some of the more disturbing photos here.
Back at work, the day after the party I noticed this:

No, not the slightly sad dismembered Simon heads. The sign. The Pokers involved didn’t just go to the effort of cutting out 50 of the masks, they even made a sign declaring the area the ‘mask making station’.
Bear in mind that people were really busy and scurrying round to get these made in time before Simon arrived. And someone still bothered to do that.
(These are the same people – Stuff Clubbers mostly – behind the Quick Draw Saloon btw)
Pokers turn everything into an event. That is more significant to the culture of our work here than I can explain. I think the above picture does a better job.
If you want other people to see the stuff you make as an event, you had better believe it yourself.
