After announcing my week of favours, Mariann, Neil and Chris all made a request. Although I planned to choose just one, I decided to do attempt all three images. (although it was exhausting so I may not do multiple ones again)
The quality of these isn’t particularly good. I spent just over an hour in total doing all three. I’m also not a designer. The original favour was to find an image or maybe hack together a crude montage for a presentation. I didn’t realise people would ask for artwork. Ha. ;)
First off, Mariann asked me to create a cover for her up-coming book, Seriously Social. I’ve done two versions. I also included your twitter ID. That felt appropriate given the topic of your book. Note, I didn’t do these at print quality. But frankly I doubt you’d want to use these anyway ;)
Even though the idea was for it to look like a business book, the typeface is pretty horrible. So I tried a more fun one too:

Then, Neil asked for a new header for his blog, Only Dead Fish. I tried to keep the feel similar to your original design, Neil. I thought a type-based version might be cleaner. This graphic is the same dimensions as your current one, so you wouldn’t have to resize it at all.

Finally, Chris asked for a new avatar / profile picture made from stationary. Fortunately I still have sticky eyes from a pack I bought a while ago. This made my job easy. I stuck a post-it note in a hole punch and used it to make freckles too. In the top right you can see how it looks at 48×48:

This concludes #favour1.
I won’t be at all offended if none of you use these images. The whole point of this exercise is to give something back. One down, four to go :)
That was a very tiring lunch break.

Thanks Andy. Really like it :-)
Andy, what can I say. I’m blown away!
A massive thank you! This is more than perfect, and far better than anything I was imagining! Really nice work mate, as with the others too!
You’re a hero. Thanks again and good luck with the rest of the week too.
Andy, do you ever stop?! You’re a machine – this is all so fun :) Top work.
Glad you like your images guys. Only four days of this left :S
Nilesh, it’s fun but exhausting. Secretly hoping the rest of the weeks favours aren’t so demanding.
Your icon character is wonderful!
Thanks Nicky :) That means a lot coming from you. Funnily enough, it took only 5 minutes, from thought to photo. I should think less, more.
